Season One: Beginning

nina began with a simple ambition: to create a community “third space” in Atwater Village, Los Angeles. A place where creativity, conversation, and connection could unfold freely.

That humble neighborhood experiment has grown into a larger mission: to make beautiful, intentional spaces available to more artists.

This year, that vision expanded to the mountains through the creation of our first artist residency in Idyllwild.

In September 2025, we quietly opened applications, and were astonished to receive over fifty submissions from LGBTQ+ artists across California. The response affirmed what we felt from the beginning: that space itself can be a form of care.

The Artist Residency at nina Idyllwild is a heart-forward work-in-progress, and we’re thrilled to introduce our inaugural cohort of residents: six extraordinary artists whose work reflects the spirit of this place and community.
