Crafting the Diaspora: Closing Ceremony
Join us for the closing ceremony of Crafting the Diaspora: A Black Queer Lens of Artisans and Communal Archiving, a landmark exhibition that has transformed nina into a vibrant space for world-building and storytelling. This gathering is a final opportunity to experience the powerful works of featured artists Asari Aibangbee, Nandi Mathews, Marie-Josè Njoku-Obi, and Corey Pemberton, whose practices in sculpture, glass, ceramics, textiles, and painting explore the African diaspora through a Black queer lens.
This event is suited for artists, cultural workers, community members, and anyone interested in the intersections of craft, identity, and ancestral history. It is a space to honor the role of Black queer and trans artisans as contemporary griots who preserve history and shape culture.
