Mississippi Goddam: A One-Woman Show by Cierralione
Mississippi Goddam is a one-woman multidisciplinary performance and an ode to the revolutionary artistry of Nina Simone, created and performed by Cierralione.
Guests can expect an intimate, emotionally charged experience featuring a screening of the short film Born with Flaws, starring Cierralione and captured by Bunmi Abari; a bartering table featuring handmade products and visual art by Cierralione; and a special live performance bringing together movement, poetry, music, and storytelling.
This gathering is for artists, creatives, lovers of Black art and culture, community members, and anyone interested in experiencing art as a space for reflection, resistance, healing, and connection. You do not need to be an artist or familiar with Nina Simone to attend. Come as you are and be open to feeling, witnessing, and engaging with the work.
