Extra Extra: A maximalist art exhibition and silent auction for nina

For two weeks in December, nina Atwater’s gallery is packed wall to wall with work by more than 30 artists who have shaped nina since we opened in April 2025: our Idyllwild residents, artists from our gallery shows, and all the creators who steward, teach, and host in our space. Extra Extra is a portrait of the vibrant community we’ve nurtured over the last 20 months, all in one overflowing room.

Everything is up for silent auction: original artwork, ceramics, books, objects, and one-of-a-kind experiences offered by the artists themselves. Every bid funds nina’s 2027 plan to keep creative space free and open in Los Angeles. It’s also the best holiday shopping you’ll do all year.

Join us for any or all of the events. The opening reception on December 3 kicks things off with a conversation between top curators, culture makers, donors, and organizational leaders about protecting creative life in Los Angeles, and where we go from here as funding tightens and the spaces artists depend on disappear. Gather intimately with participating and visiting artists during gallery hours on December 9 and 12 for a glimpse into their creative process and the stories behind the work. On December 17, we’ll celebrate everything we’ve built together so far and close the year the way we do everything: abundantly, generously, and beautifully.

This is your moment to come back to nina, visit for the first time, bring the people who need to know about it, and bid, bid, bid.
