About the event

Spend a few hours slowing down with your hands and making something entirely your own.

In this beginner-friendly workshop, you’ll learn the foundations of hand quilting while exploring a more intuitive, expressive approach to stitching. Working with fabric, batting, and thread, you’ll create a small, one-of-a-kind mini quilt—part functional object, part personal artwork.

We’ll cover essential techniques like basting, knotting, hand quilting stitches, binding, and ways to build texture through stitching. Along the way, you’ll be invited to follow your instincts, experimenting with pattern, rhythm, and composition in a way that feels natural rather than rigid.

Quilting has a long, communal history, and we’ll lightly touch on its cultural roots while creating a space that feels grounded, restorative, and open. Expect something tactile, a little meditative, and quietly satisfying.

All materials are provided, but you’re welcome to bring fabric scraps, threads, or tools that you feel drawn to.
